Google Failure? Search Wrestling Shoes.
Alright. Lets get this out of the way quick. I’m not complaining about someone else’s success, I think its great for them. Anyway, run over to Google right now, a switch occurred in the SERPs and I noticed a couple things, both of which have been there for months, but their raising in rank prompted this post.
WrestlingGear.com is the #1 & 2 results. Move to the middle of the page, and you will see WrestlingShoes.com. This site is owned, operated, and contains the exact same products, links to WrestlingGear in 90% of its pages, and yet remains as a result in the top 10. Why does this matter? Good question reader!
Google has 10 results on the first page, and with this minor glitch, a company like WrestlingGear has 3 placements on the first page of the SERPs. That is 30% of the front page organic real estate- nice.
The next I found was AllWrestlingShoes.com.. a made for ads website. Now, with all of the power Google has, how is this site better than the 15-20 real wrestling shoes stores out there? It isn’t, and Google could fix this. Simple catches like checking for a shopping cart, or prices would aid in removing a lot of this rubbish from ecommerce search phrases. Google is in the business of providing the best content, and 20% of their results are gateway pages to another domain.
